Homopolar Electrodynamic Bearing implemented in a Micro turbine solution (Micro CHP)


The Homopolar Electrodynamic Bearings can preferably be utilized in micro turbines - or Micro CHPs. The friction is barely measurable (Ref PhD Thesis) and thus there will be no energy waste related to the bearing. Since no physical contact exists - there will be no vibration induced noice generated by the bearing.

The Life Cycle Cost will be very low since life time expectancy is very high - in excess of 20 years. The bearings does not require any lubrication and are thus maintenance free.
The Micro CHP - or turbine - can be designed very compact and therefore it can be fitted in extremely tight spaces.
